Software Engineer at Desk

Hi, I’m Josh, the engineer behind Cloud405. I’m a DevOps engineer and Air Force veteran who builds and automates cloud infrastructure, with deep experience in AWS and federally regulated environments. I hold the AWS Solutions Architect Professional and DevOps Engineer Professional certifications, and most of my career has been spent turning manual provisioning and deployment work into pipelines, infrastructure as code, and automation that teams actually rely on.

Day to day, that means architecting CI/CD in GitLab, writing IaC for AWS and on-prem VMware environments, and automating server provisioning at scale. Off the clock, Cloud405 is where I tinker: self-hosted tools, small utilities like my timezone converter at tz.cloud405.com, and whatever else I’m curious about that week. I also create content about tech careers, helping others break into cloud and DevOps roles.

When I’m not at a keyboard, I’m managing a small rental property in Sacramento, going down personal-finance rabbit holes, or hanging out with my wife and our Chihuahua.
